Sustainability, Smart Growth & Our Future

Now that J&J is gone, what are the next 50 or 100 years going to look like in North Brunswick? This is the question discussed over a one-year series of public community workshops and collaborative planning sessions hosted by North Brunswick TOD Associates.  The result of this community “visioning process” was a transformative plan for the future generations of North Brunswick citizens - a plan for a better life for our children and grandchildren.    What emerged from the planning process is a vision for the redevelopment of this land matching the goals of smart growth land use planning with transportation orientated planning, economic development, clean energy and reduced global warming which is all together referred to as a Transit Village. 

The Transit Village plan for North Brunswick is an opportunity to create the first new American town center, built for the way we must live in the 21st century!  Building a Transit Village in North Brunswick is an opportunity for the organized growth of North Brunswick, the Route 1 corridor and New Jersey.  It allows for a change of course away from needless waste of the land, sprawl, disorder, congestion, and mounting taxes, and moves towards a direction of order, beauty, financial stability, sustainability, and sincere concern for the world we leave to our children and grandchildren.
